10 a.m. - Dendermonde town centre: closed for traffic
12:30 p.m. - Beginning of the entertainment events + food and drink stands along the track
2 p.m. – Parade lineup at the Noordlaan and Donckstraat
2:30 p.m. - Departure of the parade at the Gentsesteenweg: a magical spectacle with over twenty unique floats and horse-drawn wagons, spectacular dances, music, folklore, beautiful choreography, marching bands and thousands of costumed participants and as a climax: the Bayard Steed ridden by the 4 sons of Aymon, the violin player, the jester Kalleke Step, the archers and the halberdiers.
Route: Gentsesteenweg > Kerkstraat > Prudens Van Duysestraat > Sas> Greffelinck > Emiel Van Winckellaan > Beurzestraat> Kerkstraat > Justitieplein > Franz Courtensstraat > Bogaerdbrug > Werf > Koningin Astridlaan > Dijkstraat > Oude Vest > Brusselsestraat > Vlasmarkt > Ridderstraat (Vlasmarktbrug) > Market Square
Duration of the parade: ca. 2.5 hours.
3 p.m. - 7 p.m. - Entertainment and apotheosis programme at the Grand-Place (tickets for the grand stands are sold out: the Grand-Place is not accessible to the public between 12 p.m. and ca. 8 p.m.)
17:30 p.m. - Bayard Steed exhibition at the Market Square
8 p.m. - Farewell ceremony: bring the Bayard Steed into its stable at the barracks which will be its accommodation for the next ten years.
8 p.m. - 3 a.m .: after-party in the party area (Market Square and surrounding streets)
10 p.m. - Musical fireworks
- The use of recyclable cups (to borrow on site) is compulsory. A souvenir cup of the Bayard horse can be purchased.
- Glass bottles and glasses will not be allowed along the track of the parade.
